may also require adherence to environmental regulations or product labeling requirements. Below is a detailed breakdown of the latest
 
certification standards and requirements for 2025:
 
 
I. Mandatory Core Certifications: The Entry Threshold for the U.S. Market
 
1. Electrical Safety Certification: UL 62368-1:2025 (4th Edition)

• Scope of Application:
  Applies to all electrically driven projectors (including power adapters and internal circuitry). This is a mandatory safety standard required by the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR Title 16), designed to prevent risks such as electric shock, fire, and mechanical hazards.
   
• Key Updates for 2025:
   
  • Prohibition of Legacy Standard Components:​ Components certified under the obsolete standards IEC 60950-1​ (IT equipment) or IEC 60065​ (audio/video equipment) are no longer accepted. A comprehensive review of the Bill of Materials (BOM)​ is required.
     
  • Enhanced Button Cell Battery Safety:​ New requirements under UL 4200A​ mandate that battery compartments be designed to prevent access by children.

1. Federal Level: DOE Energy Efficiency Certification

  Applies to all projectors, which must comply with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) and the regulations outlined in 10 CFR Part 430.
   
• Test Content:
  Key metrics including luminous efficacy (light output efficiency), standby power consumption, and off-mode power consumption.
   
• New Requirements for 2025:
  Battery charging systems (e.g., projectors with built-in lithium batteries) must meet the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS).
   
• Certification Process:
  Submit test reports for registration via the CCMS system​ → Obtain a DOE registration number → Label the product with its energy efficiency rating (an Energy Guide label is required for certain products).
   
• Compliance Risks:
  Non-certified products may be detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and e-commerce platforms such as Amazon will enforce mandatory delisting.

2. California State Level: CEC Energy Efficiency Certification

• Scope of Application:
  Applies specifically to projectors sold in California. The requirements are stricter than those mandated by the DOE.
   
• Test Content:
  Luminous efficacy, standby power consumption (must be ≤ 0.5W), brightness uniformity, etc.

  Smart home devices must support energy management protocols (such as Matter).
   
• Certification Process:
  Submit an application to a CEC-recognized laboratory​ → Upon passing testing, register on the official CEC website → Renew the certification every two years.

III. Voluntary Certifications: Enhancing Market Competitiveness
1. ENERGY STAR® Certification

• Scope of Application:
  Voluntary certification applicable to projectors seeking to obtain an eco-friendly label.
   
• 2025 Standard (Version 8.0):
  Luminous efficacy has been increased by 15%, and standby power consumption must be ≤ 0.3W.
  Test data must be submitted via the official ENERGY STAR Product Registry.

2. Environmental Compliance: California Proposition 65 (Prop 65)

  If the product contains hazardous substances such as lead or phthalates, a clear warning label must be affixed to the packaging or included in the user manual.

1. FDA Radiation Safety Certification

  Applies to projectors utilizing laser light sources, which must comply with the standard 21 CFR Part 1040.
   
• Test Content:
  Laser classification (Class 1/2/3R), beam divergence, and safety interlock mechanisms.
   
• Certification Process:
